5 Control of state of charge of batteries

At each use of an electronic key the control light-emitting diode of state of charge of batteries quickly lights up.

If the control light-emitting diode does not light up, it is necessary to make replacement of batteries immediately.

Replacement of batteries of the main electronic key

The instruction on environmental protection!

You make removal of the discharged batteries according to requirements for environmental protection.

Remove a mechanical key.

Slightly press a key into an opening-1-(not podrychazhivy).

Slightly raise a compartment for batteries in the direction of an arrow-3-.

Insert batteries-4-under a contact spring

- 5-, using the napkin made of cloth which is not leaving fibers. Plus up!

Move a compartment for batteries into the key case before fixing.

KEYLESS-GO system

The smart card of the KEYLESS-GO-1-system on function corresponds to an electronic key, existence of a smart card provides a possibility of use of the car.

The smart card is checked for reality at capture for the handle of a door or when pressing the trunk lid button. If the smart card was identified outside, the chosen doors, a trunk lid and a cover of the hatch of the fuel tank as appropriate open.

Additional information on the KEYLESS-GO system you will find "Driving" in a part:

"Function of inclusion of a starter by means of a smart card of the KEYLESS-GO system" (Section Driving and auxiliary systems).
"Start of the petrol engine by means of a smart card" (Section Driving and auxiliary systems).

Important!

In order that the driver could use all functions of the KEYLESS-GO system at any time it is necessary to observe the following:

· We recommend to the driver to have always at ourselves a smart card. For unlocking or locking it has to be outside the car. It has to be in close proximity (no more than 1.0 m) from subject to locking or unlocking of a door or trunk lid. For management of functions of the lock of ignition the smart card has to be in close proximity (no more than 1.0 m) from subject to locking or unlocking of a door or trunk lid. For management of functions of the lock of ignition the smart card has to be in the car.
· If the smart card is removed from the car (for example, together with baggage or in a clothes pocket), the car cannot be more locked, and the engine cannot be started.
· If the smart card is removed at an open door and the working engine, then after start-off from the place every 3 second on the multiinformation display there is a precautionary indication of "CHIP CARD NOT RECOGNISED" (the SMART CARD is not IDENTIFIED).
· Remember that the engine of the car can be started by the smart card left in the car. If the smart card remains in the car, then when locking locks on the multiinformation display the instruction "CHIP CARD STILL IN VEHICLE" appears (the SMART CARD IN the CAR).

In order that at malfunction of the KEYLESS-GO system, for example, owing to a strong source of a radio noise or the discharged rechargeable battery of the car, it was possible to drive the car, we recommend to have always at ourselves a spare electronic key.
Do not subject a smart card to the increased electromagnetic radiation. There is a danger of violation of work!

In order to avoid danger to remain incidentally outside the trunk lid does not give in to closing at the locked car if the smart card lies on the back shelf or in a luggage carrier.

Unlocking of the car

Undertake the door handle. The car opens. Two installations can be chosen:

Unlocking of the uniform lock

At capture for the handle of a door all doors, a trunk lid and a cover of the hatch of the fuel tank open.

Unlocking of a door of the driver

At capture for the handle of a door of the driver only the door of the driver and a cover of the hatch of the fuel tank open. At capture for the handle of other door the uniform lock of the car opens.

The door through which unlocking was made can be open at once after the heard click. Other doors can be open after lifting of the locking button. (Switching of the chosen installation is considered below in this Section).

Unlocking of the car and switching off of the anticreeping alarm system (EDW) are confirmed by a disposable blinking of lamps of the index of turn.

If after unlocking of the car any of doors or a trunk lid was not open, then in about 40 seconds automatic locking is made.

Individual unlocking / opening of a luggage carrier

For opening of a luggage carrier press the button-1-.

The button is in back deepening of registration plate.

Switching between the Unlocking of a Door of the Driver and Unlocking of the Uniform Lock functions

Press the button-1-and hold pressed until the control lamp does not light up on the required Unlocking of a Door of the Driver symbol-2-or "Unlocking of the uniform lock"-3-.

Locking of locks of the car

1 Button of blocking of a door

Press the blocking button on a door or on a trunk lid. If doors are closed, the uniform lock of the car is locked.

2 The blocking button on a trunk lid

The button is in back deepening of registration plate.

Behind closed doors and a trunk lid activation of system of check of the authorized driving or operational readiness of the anticreeping alarm system (EDW) after locking are confirmed by a thrice blinking of lamps of the index of turn.

Call of the last condition of the locking made by a smart card

Slightly press the button-1-. The control light-emitting diode "Unlocking of a door of the driver"-2-or "Unlocking of the uniform lock"-3-lights up red or green light.

Green light: the car is unlocked

Red light: the car is locked

Control of state of charge of batteries

Slightly press the button-1-. The control light-emitting diode "Unlocking of a door of the driver"-2-or "Unlocking of the uniform lock"-3-has to light up red or green light.

If control light-emitting diodes do not light up, it is necessary to make replacement of batteries immediately.

Lift a cover-1-and take out batteries.

Simultaneous use of an electronic key and smart card

At simultaneous use of an electronic key and smart card driving by means of an electronic key has a priority before management by means of a smart card.

If the engine was started by a smart card and then at the working engine the electronic key is inserted into the lock of ignition, the engine continues to work in provisions of the lever of the AT R, N, D selector or ranges of switching 4, 3, 2, 1 until it is not switched off through function of the KEYLESS-GO system.

If the electronic key is inserted into the ignition lock, and the lever of the selector is in situation P, then management adopts an electronic key. The electric equipment of the car turns on according to the provision of an electronic key in the ignition lock, if necessary, the working engine is switched off.

Automatic locking during the movement

Since speed about 15 km/h, locking of the uniform lock of the car is made.

If one of forward doors opens from within, unlocking of the uniform lock of the car is made if the last unlocking was made by the uniform lock by means of the device of remote control or a smart card of KEYLESS-GO.

Automatic locking can be included or switched off (address the subsection "Individual Installation" of the Section the Multipurpose steering wheel, the multiinformation display).

There is a danger of accident!

You can remain outside during the pushing or towage of the car: The car is locked if the electronic key is in the ignition lock in situation 2 (model with the KEYLESS-GO system: in provision of the movement), and the car moves.

(Switching off of the "Automatic Locking during the Movement" function - address the subsection "Individual Installation" of the Section the Multipurpose steering wheel, the multiinformation display).

Automatic unlocking at accident

Doors open only at collision above a certain value.

Switch of the uniform lock

The switch of the uniform lock is on the average console.

Press the switch:

1 Locking
2 Unlocking

The car can be unlocked or locked by the switch of the uniform lock from within.

Locking by the switch of the uniform lock can be made only if forward doors are closed.

If locking it was made by an electronic key or through function of the KEYLESS-GO system, then unlocking by the switch is impossible.

There is a danger of accident!

Do not leave children in the car unguarded. They can open even if it is blocked and by that to endanger itself and other persons.

Opening/closing of side glasses and the shifted and lifted top hatch (function of opening in summertime of year / comfortable closing)

Function of opening in summertime of year: opening of the shifted and lifted top hatch and lowering of side glasses, and at the same time inclusion of system of ventilation of a seat of the driver is made.

("System of ventilation of seats" — the Section of the Seat).

Comfortable closing: closing of the shifted and lifted top hatch and lifting of side glasses is made.

Management by means of an electronic key

Direct an edge of the main electronic key to the handle of a door of the driver or forward passenger.

Function of opening in summertime of year:

Unlock the car, hold the button pressed before achievement by windows and the shifted and lifted top hatch of required position.

Opening interruption:

Release the button.

Comfortable closing:

Block the car, hold the button pressed until all windows rise and the shifted and lifted top hatch will not be closed.

There is a danger of traumatizing!

Control process of rise/closing in order to avoid jamming of passengers.

In case of danger of jamming release the button - rise/closing process immediately is interrupted.

Press the button and hold pressed — side glasses fall again and the shifted and lifted top hatch opens.

Leaving the car, check whether all side glasses are lifted and whether the shifted and lifted top hatch is closed.

Management by means of the KEYLESS-GO system

Comfortable closing:

Press the blocking button in the handle of a door and hold pressed until all glasses rise and the shifted and lifted top hatch will not be closed.

There is a danger of traumatizing!

Control process of rise/closing in order to avoid jamming of passengers.

In case of danger and jamming release the blocking button in the door handle — closing process immediately is interrupted.

Pull for the handle of a door and you hold it — side glasses fall again and the shifted and lifted top hatch opens.

Leaving the car, check whether all side glasses are lifted and whether the shifted and lifted top hatch is closed.

The door gives in to opening outside only if the car was unlocked previously.

2 Opening of a door from within

The separate door can be open from within and in case the car is blocked. In this case only the corresponding door opens.

Unlocking of doors is confirmed by a vydviganiye of the locking button-3-.

Amplifier of the mechanism of closing of doors

Doors and trunk lid are closed automatically if:

doors nestle on the lock with overcoming provision of preliminary fixing, the trunk lid nestles on the lock.

There is a danger of jamming!

Do not try to activate the amplifier of the mechanism of closing of doors, manipulating in the castle mechanism. Control process of closing of doors and a trunk lid.

In case of need:

Pull for the door handle from within or outside.

Press the trunk lid lock.

If the car is locked, at first unlock.

Blocking of locks of back doors

1 Blocking — shift a rychazhok up.
2 Release — shift a rychazhok down.

The blocked door cannot be opened from within, having pulled for the handle.

The door can be open outside if the car is unlocked. The locking button of a back door is in the top situation.

There is a danger of accident!

Do not leave children in the car unguarded. They can open a door even if it is blocked and by that to endanger itself and other persons.

Temporary switching off of blocking of locks of back doors

The switch of the uniform lock is on the average console.

1 Switching off of blocking of locks of back doors

Pressing the switch of the uniform lock 5 seconds on both back doors switches off blocking of locks.
The blocked doors can be open during this time for the door handle from within.

There is a danger of accident!

If blocking of locks of back doors, is switched off by pressing the switch of the uniform lock, both back doors are unlocked. You watch that the child incidentally did not open a door. Do not leave children in the car unguarded. They can press the switch of the uniform lock and, thereby, temporarily switch off blocking of locks of back doors, or open one of forward doors even in case it is blocked and to endanger themselves and other persons.

Mechanical key

By mechanical key-2-on the main electronic key and a mechanical key-4-on a spare electronic key the driver's door (emergency opening of a door) can be unlocked and locked or the trunk lid is separately locked or open.

(Separate locking / opening of a trunk lid - is considered below in this Section).

Important!

At insertion of the main electronic key in the ignition lock the mechanical key should not be pushed forward. Otherwise the lock of ignition can be damaged.

Vydvigany a mechanical key from the main electronic key:

Displace the button-1-in the direction of an arrow, and-2-push a mechanical key forward before fixing.

Vdvigany a mechanical key on the main electronic key:

Press the button-3-and move a mechanical key before fixing.

Removal of a mechanical key:

On the main electronic key shift the button-1-in the direction of an arrow and take out a mechanical key-2-back.

From a spare electronic key extend a mechanical key-4-.

Emergency opening of doors

If the car does not give in to unlocking by remote control of an electronic key or a smart card, unlock a door of the driver a mechanical key.

The lock is in back deepening of registration plate.

Separate locking of a trunk lid

Block a trunk lid a mechanical key-1-and take out a key in this situation.

The luggage carrier remains locked and after unlocking of the uniform lock of the car.

Unlocking and locking of a trunk lid uniform lock

Block a trunk lid a mechanical key-2-and take out a key in this situation.

Opening of a trunk lid mechanical key:

Turn a key in situation-3-and press the castle cylinder.

Additional lock of a trunk lid

When locking and unlocking the car the additional lock of a trunk lid is also locked and opens.

In case the luggage carrier is locked separately, the additional lock of a trunk lid is also separately locked.

Remote opening of a trunk lid

The handle of remote opening of a trunk lid is on the driver's door.

The luggage carrier can be opened by the handle of remote opening only at a car stop.

For opening of a trunk lid pull the handle of remote opening up.

The control light-emitting diode on the handle of remote opening burns until the trunk lid is open.

Important!

The trunk lid leans back up. Therefore watch sufficient free space!

Closing of a luggage carrier

Lower a trunk lid, having pulled it for dredging-1-down and slam.

Emergency unlocking of a cover of the hatch of the fuel tank

Carefully delay an internal side covering in a luggage carrier on the right. Pull for the handle (shooter) and open a cover of the hatch of the fuel tank.

Loss of a smart card, electronic or mechanical key

At loss of a mechanical key we recommend to replace mechanical elements of locks.

The new smart card, electronic key or mechanical key can be got only through one of Mercedes-Benz stations.

We recommend to have always at ourselves a spare key.

The general notes on system of locks

If the electronic key is in the ignition lock, then locking or unlocking by the second electronic key or a smart card is impossible.

If the car does not give in to unlocking or locking:

Direct an edge of the main electronic key to the handle of a door of the driver or forward passenger.

Check state of charge of batteries of the main electronic key or smart card (materials at the beginning of the Section).

Open the car a mechanical key. Insert the main electronic key into the lock of ignition and wait until the electronic key in the lock of ignition is not able to be turned.
